For Colorado Only
Gov. John Hickenlooper tonight ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings tomorrow at sunrise until sunset on the day of the funeral to honor El Paso County Sheriff's Deputy Micah Flick.
Flick, 34, was killed while responding to a motor vehicle theft. Two other deputies, a Colorado Springs police officer and a civilian were injured in the shooting. Flick served the El Paso County Sheriff's Office for 11 years.
He is survived by his wife and 7-year-old twins.
**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
