Please be advised that Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has ordered that the United States flag and the Commonwealth flag be lowered to half-staff at all state buildings from sunrise until sunset on the date of his interment, Wednesday, October 4, 2017, in honor of SPC Raymond C. Wise, United States Army, of Dorchester, MA, who passed away Sept 22, 2017 at Fort Bliss Texas, in a training accident.
This observance shall be concurrent with the ongoing half-staff display of the United States and Commonwealth flags in the Commonwealth in respect for the victims of the senseless act of violence perpetrated in Las Vegas on Sunday, October 1, 2017.
As such, the American and State flags should remain at half-staff until sunset on Friday, October 6, 2017.
**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
FlagsExpress.com will provide you with an E-mail notification when your American or state flag should be flown at half-staff in accordance to Presidential proclamations.
