For Arkansas Only
Governor Asa Hutchinson has ordered the flag of the State of Arkansas to be lowered to half-staff in tribute to the memory of Drew County Sheriff's Deputy Timothy Braden, who was killed in the line of duty during a motor vehicle pursuit outside Monticello, Arkansas, on August 24, 2017 at 1:35 AM. The flag will be flown at half-staff from August 25, 2017 to the day of interment.
Governor Hutchinson issued the following statement on Thursday on the passing of Deputy Braden:
“It is always a difficult day when I hear of the loss of one of Arkansas’ finest. I am deeply saddened to learn that Deputy Timothy Braden was killed in the line of duty. Deputy Braden’s life was cut short in service to the people of our state. My prayers and gratitude are with Deputy Braden’s family and with the law enforcement community for their selfless commitment to serve and protect the people of our state, even in times of danger.”
