Governor DeWine ordered flags of the United States and the State of Ohio be flown at half staff at all public buildings in Mahoning County in honor of State Representative Don Manning, and in Hamilton County in honor of Springdale Police Officer Kaia Grant. This order also applies to flags at the Ohio Statehouse, Vern Riffe Center, and Rhodes State Office Tower until sunset on March 29, 2020.

All other public buildings and grounds throughout the state may fly the flags of the United States and Ohio at half-staff at their discretion for the same time period.


**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the Half-Staff or Half-Mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
