For South Dakota Only
Governor Kristi Noem has ordered flags at the South Dakota State Capitol to be flown at half-staff from 8 a.m. until sunset on Monday, January 6, 2020, to honor the life of George Blair, a former legislator.
Blair served in the South Dakota Legislature from 1979 until 1986. A memorial service for Blair will be held at 1 p.m. on January 6 at First Presbyterian Church in Sturgis.
**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
