I am directing flags to be lowered to at half-staff immediately on the grounds of the Alabama State Capitol Complex in Montgomery and in Alabama’s First Congressional District to honor the memory and longstanding service of former U.S. Rep. Jack Edwards, who passed this morning.

The flags should remain lowered at half-staff until sunset on the day of interment.
