Gov. Jared Polis today ordered the United States and Colorado flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise to sunset on Monday, August 26, 2019, to honor Gunnery Sergeant Scott A. Koppenhafer of Mancos, Colorado.

Koppenhafer died on August 10, 2019 in Iraq after suffering fatal wounds while supporting Iraqi Security Forces. He was assigned to the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Forces Special Operations Command, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2019.
