Half-Staff Alert - Saturday, June 29, 2019
For Wyoming Only

Flags will be flown at half staff “in honor of two soldiers being returned home.”

Governor Mark Gordon ordered that flags at the Wyoming Capitol and in Albany, Johnson and Sheridan Counties be flown at half staff on Saturday, June 29.

“Funeral services will be held that day in Albany County for Machinist Mate First Class George Hanson and in Johnson County for Cpl. DeMaret Marston Kirtley,” the governor’s office said on Thursday.

**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
