For New Jersey Only
Today, Governor Murphy signed Executive Order No. 66, ordering U.S. and New Jersey flags to fly at half-staff to honor the life of former Senate Minority Leader Thomas Gagliano on Wednesday, April 17, 2019.
“Senator Gagliano was an exemplary public servant who devoted himself to Monmouth County, and was instrumental in the creation of what is now NJ TRANSIT,” said Governor Murphy. “Although we have lost Senator Gagliano, his legacy will continue to live on. Tammy and I send our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
