For New Jersey Only
Governor Phil Murphy today has ordered that the U.S. and New Jersey flags be flown at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities in honor of the late Senator John Dorsey on Friday, December 21, 2018.
"Senator Dorsey dedicated his life to important causes that impacted residents of New Jersey during his time as a public servant," said Governor Murphy. "Tammy and I send our deepest condolences to the Dorsey family and his loved ones during this difficult time."
*This order stacks on the Dec. 1, 2018, order for President George H.W. Bush. Flags should remain lowered through Dec. 30, 2018.
**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
