Half-Staff Alert - September 17th, 2018
For Colorado Only

Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise to sunset on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, in honor of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Diobanjo S. Sanagustin.

Sanagustin, 32, was assigned to B Company, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson. He died on Sept. 4, 2018 in Parwan Province, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel.

Sanagustin is survived by his wife, son, and parents.

**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
