Governor Tom Wolf has ordered the Commonwealth flag to fly at half-staff at the Capitol Complex and at all Commonwealth facilities in Allegheny County to honor Robert E. "Bob" Colville.
Bob Colville, 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Colville's distinguished career began in 1961 as a Pittsburgh police officer after serving as a Marine during the Korean War. He rose through the ranks to police chief before running for county district attorney and concluded his career as a Pennsylvania State Superior Court judge.
The Commonwealth flag shall be lowered immediately, Friday, September 14, 2018, through sunset on Saturday, September 15, the day of his interment. All Pennsylvanians are invited to participate in this tribute.
The United States flag shall remain at full staff during this tribute.
**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
