For Arizona Only
Governor Ducey has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise Friday, June 29, 2018, to sunset Saturday, June 30, 2018 for the following reasons:
Friday, June 29- the interment of Staff Sergeant Alexander W. Conrad, who was from Arizona and who died on June 9, 2018 in support of Operation Octave Shield in Somalia.
Saturday, June 30- in honor and remembrance of the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshots who lost their lives at Yarnell Hill five years ago.
Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are encouraged to join in this tribute.
**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
