Half-Staff Alert - Sunday, June 24, 2018
For Colorado Only

Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags be lowered to half-staff statewide on all public buildings from sunrise to sunset on Sunday, June 24, 2018, in honor of West Metro Fire Protection District Engineer Aaron Lybarger.

Lybarger, 47, served with the West Metro Fire Protection District since 1992. He died on June 2, 2018, of esophageal and stomach cancer caused by on-the-job exposures.

Lybarger is survived by wife Andrea, daughters Amanda and Anna Belle, his parents Barbara and Glenn, and brother Eric. Funeral services will be held privately at the family’s request.

**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.

FlagsExpress.com will provide you with an E-mail notification when your American or state flag should be flown at half-staff in accordance to Presidential proclamations.
