The Governor of Wisconsin has ordered flags to fly at half-staff, on Friday, May 4, 2018, staff in honor of Rico Caruso, Klint Mitchell, and Gregory Rosenthal, who lost their lives when the medical transport helicopter they were aboard crashed while returning from a successful patient transfer.
In accordance with the order, please ensure that the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Wisconsin are flown at half-staff at all state facilities beginning at sunrise on Friday, May 4, 2018, and ending at sunset on that same date.
**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
