For Rhode Island Only
Governor Gina M. Raimondo has ordered Rhode Island flags at all state facilities and buildings to be flown at half-staff until sunset on Thursday, March 29, 2018, in honor of District Court Associate Judge William C. Clifton.
"Judge Clifton served Rhode Island fairly and honorably, both on and off the bench," said Governor Raimondo. "His legacy of integrity and dedication serves as inspiration to us all. Andy and I are thinking of his family during this difficult time."
Raimondo also asks Rhode Islanders to keep their their flags lowered as a mark of respect.
**When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U.S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
