Flagpole Halyard:
Commonly referred to as flagpole rope or flagpole cable. The halyard is used to hoist the flag into position.  The flag is held to the rope using flags snaps.  The halyard can consist of poly propylene, nylon, nylon wire center or stainless steel.  All of our halyard is UV resistant for longer life and reduced maintenance.

External Halyard:
The entire loop of the flagpole rope is on the outside of the pole.  There is a pulley at the top and a cleat towards the bottom. This is least expensive and most common, particularly for residential flagpoles.

Internal Halyard:
The halyard is not a loop.  Instead the halyard runs up the inside of the flagpole, out the top and over a pulley assembly and down the side of the pole.  This is a more expensive method of hoisting the flag but provides several important benefits:
1.) The halyard is protected inside the pole from weather and vandalism. 
2.) The flagpole has a cleaner appearance and is quieter because the halyard does not slap against the pole. 
3.) It is also possible to have an internal winch system making it easier to hoist the flag.  Internal halyard systems are more common on our commercial flagpoles
