PIERRE, S.D. – Gov. Dennis Daugaard is ordering flags to fly half-staff at the State Capitol on Friday, May 5, to honor the life of former Rep. William Clayton, who passed away on April 20.
Clayton, 93, of Sioux Falls, served three years in the state House of Representatives from 1967 to 1969.
In 1969 he was appointed United States attorney for South Dakota and served eight years. Bill was then appointed federal clerk of courts for South Dakota, and served until he retired in 1995.
