For Rhode Island Only
PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Governor Gina M. Raimondo has ordered all Rhode Island flags to be flown at half-staff at all state facilities and buildings beginning at sunrise on Thursday, September 1, 2016. The flags will remain at half-staff until sunrise on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, in memory of former Pawtucket Mayor James E. Doyle, who passed away last week.
"Andy and I were saddened to hear of Mayor Doyle's passing," Raimondo said. "He was a true fixture in the city of Pawtucket, dedicating his life to serving the public. We send our prayers and condolences to the Doyle family and the people of Pawtucket."
Raimondo also asks Rhode Islanders to lower their state flags as a mark of respect.
