Relating to a Proclamation that the Flag of the United States and the Flag of the State of Wisconsin Be Flown at Half-Staff as a Mark of Respect for Secretary Kitty Rhoades of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services
WHEREAS, on June 18, 2016, Kitty Rhoades, Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, passed away following a battle with illness; and
WHEREAS, Kitty Rhoades has faithfully served the Wisconsin Department of Health Services since January of 2011, first as Deputy Secretary and then as Secretary; and
WHEREAS, Kitty Rhoades had previously served as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly for over a decade, including serving as the chair of the Assembly Aging and Long-Term Care Committee and as co-chair of the Joint Committee on Finance; and
WHEREAS, Kitty Rhoades leaves behind an honorable legacy of public service to the State of Wisconsin, and the people of Wisconsin mourn her death;
NOW THEREFORE, I, SCOTT WALKER, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of this State, do hereby order that the flag of the United States and the flag of the State of Wisconsin shall be flown at half-staff at all buildings, grounds, and military installations of the State of Wisconsin equipped with such flags, beginning immediately and ending at sunset on the day of interment.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Wisconsin to be affixed. Done at the Capitol in the City of Madison this eighteenth day of June in the year two thousand sixteen.
