DENVER — Wednesday, March 9, 2016 — Gov. John Hickenlooper today ordered flags remain lowered to half-staff on Thursday, March 10, on all public buildings statewide in memory of Las Animas County Deputy Sheriff Travis Russell. Flags were ordered to be lowered on March 7 in honor of Nancy Reagan. They should remain at half-staff in honor of Deputy Russell.
Russell, 44, was killed in a vehicle crash in Trinidad while on patrol March 1, 2016. He leaves behind a wife and three children.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. at the Faith Christian Fellowship, 2608 Santa Fe Trail, Trinidad.
