ST. PAUL, MN – In honor and remembrance of Fargo Police Officer and Sabin, Minnesota resident Jason Moszer, who was fatally shot while on duty on February 10, 2016, Governor Mark Dayton has ordered all United States flags and Minnesota flags be flown at half-staff at all state and federal buildings in the State of Minnesota, from sunrise until sunset, on Monday, February 22, 2016.

Jason Moszer was born on September 27, 1982, and joined the Fargo Police Department in November 2009. Before joining the department, Moszer served in the Minnesota National Guard as a combat medic. He was deployed twice – to Bosnia from July 2003 to March 2004, and to Iraq from March 2006 to June 2007. Moszer is survived by his wife Rachel; and children, Dillan and Jolee.

The State of Minnesota recognizes Officer Jason Moszer for his dedicated service to his community, and all thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and community.

A public memorial for Jason Moszer will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016, at Scheels Arena in Fargo, North Dakota before a 1:00pm funeral service.

At the direction of the Governor, Minnesota flies its flags at half-staff following the death of a Minnesotan killed in the line of duty, on the day of interment.
