For North Carolina Only
Governor Pat McCrory ordered all North Carolina flags on all state facilities in Randolph County to be immediately lowered to half-staff until sunset on the day of his interment, Saturday, January 9. This flag lowering is limited to Randolph County and is in memorial of Randolph County Sheriff Maynard Reid, Jr.
"Sheriff Reid demonstrated his deep commitment to his community, state and country through his public service as a Marine during the Vietnam War and as Randolph County Sheriff for the past 10 years," said Governor McCrory. "Ann and I ask North Carolinians around the state to keep the Reid family in their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
