PHOENIX – Governor Jan Brewer has ordered that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to halfstaff from sunrise until sunset Tuesday, December 2, 2014, in honor of Navajo Nation Police Officer Ernest Montoya. The governor has ordered that flags also be lowered on the day of his interment, for which services are pending.
Officer Montoya died Sunday, November 30 in an on-duty vehicle accident near Dilkon. He had served with the Navajo Department of Public Safety since 1993.
Individuals, businesses and other organizations are encouraged to participate in this tribute.
